Pros
Cons
The Oppo Find X9 is a high-end Android 16 smartphone that mirrors many of the Find X9 Pro’s features while offering a slightly more compact 8 mm, 203 g body at a lower price. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, delivering flagship-level performance but drawing criticism in some tests for SoC-related issues under sustained load. The 6.59‑inch AMOLED display offers 2760 x 1256 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR support and Gorilla Glass 7i protection, backed by extensive connectivity including Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, full 5G band coverage and Dual SIM. A Hasselblad-branded triple 50 MP rear camera setup (wide, ultra-wide, 3x periscope tele) plus a 32 MP front camera is widely praised for natural, DSLR-like images and versatile mobile photography. Reviewers highlight the massive 7025 mAh battery with 80 W wired and 50 W wireless charging as a key strength, often delivering multi-day endurance. While most outlets rate the device very highly (around 80–90% and an aggregate of about 88.6%), some note that its high price and strong similarity to the Pro model, along with weaker zoom versus the Pro and only moderate speakers, may limit its appeal for certain buyers.

Reviews for the Oppo Find X9
On paper, the Oppo Find X9 offers almost zero compromises compared to the Pro model and still manages to be a slightly more compact phone. The price difference is also significant. But are the differences in both the cameras and battery really that small?

It’s obvious that Oppo has focused on getting the basics right, and for the most part, it succeeds. The design is cleaner and more practical than before, and the display is nicely tuned. The performance feels consistent. The camera system is where the Find X9 justifies its positioning, delivering reliable, natural-looking results across lighting conditions without excessive processing. Battery life is another strong point, offering genuine endurance that reduces the need to think about charging throughout the day. It’s not without its limitations.

The OPPO Find X9 impressed me with its premium design, stunning AMOLED display, powerful Dimensity 9500 performance, and excellent battery life. I also really liked the front camera and portrait mode, which delivered crisp, social-media-ready photos, along with the rich set of AI features across the camera and system. I did notice some colour shifts and exposure inconsistencies in the main camera, especially between 1x and 2x shots, and low-light performance from the ultra-wide and telephoto could have been stronger. High zoom also becomes heavily processed, which takes away from image clarity at extreme levels. I hope you liked my OPPO Find X9 review. If it's pure value and specs you are chasing, then the Oppo Find X9 will not get you a big-screen experience. You will be happier with the OnePlus 15 or the Realme GT 8 Pro. Gaming, while excellent overall, is definitely more enjoyable on the GT 8 Pro thanks to its game frame interpolation feature. However, I prefer the Find X9's cameras to the Realme GT 8 Pro's camera system, as it wasn't consistent in quality. The new OnePlus 15 also falls in the same boat as the GT 8 Pro. However, you need to keep in mind that neither the OnePlus 15 nor the Realme GT 8 Pro is a true comparison, because the Oppo Find X9 belongs to the compact flagship segment.

After putting both phones through their paces, the result is quite clear. While the OPPO Find X9 is competitive with superior colour accuracy and more natural skin tones in portraits, it often struggles with consistency in other areas. It wins 2 out of 8 rounds, proving to be a good choice for users who prefer realistic colours over punchy, more stylised images. The Vivo X300, however, is the decisive winner here, taking 6 out of 8 rounds. It offers much more versatility, delivering better selfies, sharper low-light shots, and significantly more usable zoom at 3x, 10x, and 20x.

The OPPO Find X9 strikes a fine balance between power, endurance, imaging, and refined design, making it one of the most compelling compact flagships in its class. At its core, Dimensity 9500 offers top-tier blazing-fast performance with excellent efficiency, ensuring smooth multitasking, sustained gaming, and reliable thermal control. Backing this is an outstanding 7,025 mAh silicon-carbon battery combined with added traits like 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The OPPO Find X9 is well-suited for users who want a premium Android phone that balances size, performance, cameras, and battery life without feeling bulky. Its cameras are versatile and dependable, with a strong ultra-wide lens and reliable Night mode, while Hasselblad modes and AI tools add flexibility for photography enthusiasts. The Dimensity 9500 SoC delivers solid performance for heavy use and gaming, and the battery comfortably lasts a full day, though screen-on time could have been better. That said, there’s room for improvement. Battery endurance feels underwhelming for the hardware on offer, and users focused purely on photography may find better value in alternatives like the Vivo X300 (review).

After a few weeks with the OPPO Find X9, I’m hooked. It’s not just a phone; it’s a creative tool that reignited my passion for mobile photography. The build gives confidence, performance like a flagship, and that camera? It delivers DSLR-esque magic that’s accessible and fun. While the OnePlus design might annoy purists and the telephoto downgrade may disappoint zoom enthusiasts, at a starting price of ₹74,999, it undercuts competitors while excelling in battery life and imaging capabilities. Is it the best camera smartphone? In my experience, yes, for those who crave natural, versatile shots over gimmicks. If you’re a content creator or casual snapper tired of flat iPhone colours, grab it. OPPO’s Find X9 isn’t perfect, but it’s profoundly capable, a worthy evolution that proves the series’ camera throne is secure.

If you are planning to get a new 2025/2026 flagship phone, the OPPO Find X9 could be one of the most attractive packages available. For RM3699, you can enjoy all the flagship-class features and hardware, such as the fast performance provided by the Dimensity 9500 chipset, 80W fast charging and most importantly, the incredible Hasselblad camera quality. In our opinion, the Find X9 offers greater value than the RM4999 Find X9 Pro. The only significant advantage the Pro variant has is its 200MP telephoto camera's ability to take clearer zoom photos. So, if that's not something you prioritise, just go for the standard Find X9.

In the end, I think the Oppo Find X9’s biggest problem has nothing to do with how good it is as a phone. It’s an exceptional piece of hardware. The biggest issue for me is that it’s very similar to the Find X9 Pro. It’s not much smaller than the ‘Pro’-labelled bigger sibling, it’s got the same processor, and a lot of the same features. It’s left me a bit confused as to why both exist, and if there has to be a non-Pro, why it’s not significantly cheaper with a few more compromises? It’s to the point where – having used both – despite some of the features being slightly better on the Pro version, I’d rather save a little money and get largely the same device. I can live without a dedicated camera button or the slightly better zoom camera for a lighter, smaller device with pretty much all the same features.

The Oppo Find X9, announced on October 16, 2025, and released a few days later on October 22, stands out as one of Oppo’s most refined flagships to date. The phone comes with a premium glass front and back protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and an aluminum frame that feels sturdy yet elegant in hand. It also has IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, meaning it can handle rain, splashes, and even high-pressure jets without worry. The build quality and finish feel top-notch, and the device weighs 203 grams with a slim 8mm profile, balancing durability and comfort. On the front, the Find X9 sports a stunning 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 1 billion colors, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, Dolby Vision, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

All things considered, we believe that the OPPO Find X9 is sick! It’s pretty favorable across the board with the only cons so far being its camera module redesign and lacking a loud sound stage. Now then, both of these things can be subjective and will boil down to user preference. What doesn’t lie is numbers, and the Find X9 proved to deliver a satisfying experience thanks to its fresh software skin and a powerful chipset, combined with a long battery life. You could argue that improvements to its display and cameras were incremental, but they didn’t do that bad last year. That said, I’d understand if OPPO didn’t want to change these as much. How does the saying go? If it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it. However, the Find X9’s pricing is pretty steep.

OPPO has really done a great job with the Find X9. From its design, the way it handles photography, as well as its performance and days-long battery life — it checks all the boxes. The substantial price jump for this year’s model might turn off people, but it has so much to offer that we think anyone who wants to experience next-tier smartphone photography should just close their eyes and hand over their card for the OPPO Find X9.
