More information about the Redmi K90 has emerged online ahead of its prospective launch this autumn. To recap, the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro are expected to debut together in China this October or by November at the latest.
For the time being, Xiaomi is believed to be using the Redmi K90 as the basis for the Poco F8 too, just as it did this year with the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and Poco F7 (curr. $569 on Amazon). Previously, Xiaomi was reputed to have equipped the Redmi K90 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a new sub-flagship chipset that Qualcomm announced alongside the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. However, initial Geekbench listings suggest otherwise.
In fact, they indicate that Xiaomi has opted for the same chipset it used last year inside the Redmi K80 Pro. Specifically, all Geekbench listings link the Xiaomi 2510DRK44C to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and its Adreno 830 GPU. In short, averages of 2,436 and 8,346 in Geekbench 6's single-core and multi-core benchmarks are down on the median of Snapdragon 8 Elite devices we have benchmarked so far.
Conversely, these scores put the Redmi K90 ahead of the Poco F7 Ultra, effectively the global version of the Redmi K80 Pro. Thus, one could reasonably expect the Poco F8 to match its Ultra-branded predecessor too. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will offer the Poco F8 with 16 GB of RAM like the Redmi K90 shown in these leaked Geekbench results.
