The Redmi K80 series was released in November last year. Now, the company is expected to launch the next-generation Redmi K90 series. Previously, a smartphone believed to be the standard Redmi K90 received 3C certification in China. It was certified with the model number 2510DRK44C. Now two additional smartphones belonging to the K90 lineup have been certified.
The smartphones with the model numbers 25102RK69C and 25102RKBEC have been certified with support for 100W wired fast charging. While the listing does not confirm their exact names, a previous leak suggests that 25102RKBEC corresponds to the Redmi K90 Pro, which is expected to launch globally as the Poco F8 Ultra. The other model could be the Redmi K90 Pro Champion Edition.
Moreover, a prominent tipster, Digital Chat Station, shared a few details on the K90 series. The tipster suggests that the Redmi K90 models may also be compatible with the 100W PPS universal charging protocol, like the flagship Xiaomi 17 series. Additionally, the Redmi K90 series may be among the early adopters of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
Furthermore, the leaker expects an improved design with a more premium feel. The camera setup may get a small upgrade. A previous leak suggested that the standard Redmi K90 may feature a telephoto lens, which was absent on the K80. Apart from that, the leaker hints that the battery and display will still be the highlights of the series. The K90 models are expected to feature larger batteries with approximately 7,000mAh capacity.
Currently, there are no concrete details regarding the release date. However, the certification suggests the devices are moving closer to launch in the Chinese market.
