The Xiaomi Jinshajiang Power Bank Magnetic Ultra-Thin 5000 15W (machine translated) has been announced in China. It was revealed alongside the flagship Xiaomi 17 series smartphones, as well as other gadgets like the Portable Bluetooth Speaker.
The new Xiaomi power bank can be used to charge two devices simultaneously. On one side is an up to 15W wireless charging pad, with magnets which could be used to hold an iPhone or another compatible model in place. There is also a USB-C port for an up to 22.5W wired output.
This portable accessory is notable for its relative slimness and compact size; it measures 98.5 x 71.5 x 6.0 mm (~3.9 x 2.8 x 0.2 inches) and weighs 98 g (~3.5 oz). This is thanks in part to the high energy density Jinshajiang (machine translated) battery, which has 16% silicon content. This is the same technology as that used in the brand’s flagship Mi 17 Pro smartphone. The remaining battery level is indicated with LEDs, and there are also safety features that protect against issues like overvoltage, overheating, and short circuits.
Xiaomi’s Jinsha River Power Bank Magnetic Ultra-Thin 5000 15W will retail in China for CNY 299 (~$42). It is unclear when the accessory will be available in this market, and whether or not it will roll out to other countries in the future.
