Insta360 has unveiled the Insta360 Wave, an AI-powered speakerphone for office meetings.
The unit uses eight MEMS microphones to capture speakers up to 16.4 feet (5 m) away in any direction. The mics have a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with five selectable pickup patterns: omnidirectional, cardioid, supercardioid, figure-of-eight, and stereo. The Insta360 Wave leverages AI noise reduction and echo cancellation for clearer voice capture at 48 kHz.
The speakerphone comes with 32 GB of storage, allowing it to pre-record five minutes of audio before users initiate recordings. Recordings can be transcribed and summarized after each meeting using AI technologies. Users can also ask the AI questions about their meetings, which requires a $99.96 annual subscription.
The Insta360 Wave can be converted into an all-in-one video conferencing device by attaching the Insta360 Link 2 camera on top. When attached, the unit will automatically track speakers so they remain in-camera.
The unit can be USB powered or run off its internal 9,800 mAh battery for up to 12 hours, according to the company. The latter enables its use as a wireless Bluetooth speakerphone, and multiple units can be paired to cover larger meetings. Recharging each speakerphone takes five hours.
The Insta360 Wave speakerphone has an MSRP of $299.99 and is available on Amazon in arctic white or graphite black.
