Insta360 has finally replaced the Go 3S (curr. $344 on Amazon) after various leaks showcased the new action camera before its official release. As expected, the company has decided to offer its successor as the Go Ultra rather than the Go 4 or Go 4S.
To emphasise the generational upgrade, Insta360 has included a new 1/1.28-inch sensor that it claims is '221% larger' than the equivalent found inside the Go 3S. Supported by a more powerful 5 nm chipset, this 50 MP sensor can capture videos at up to 4K and 60 FPS within a housing that weighs 53 g and measures 46 x 45.6 x 18.3 mm. Please note that this excludes Insta360's Lens Guard and Action Pod that adds a touchscreen viewfinder.
Moreover, the Go Ultra is IPX8 waterproof and can withstand a dive as deep as 10 metres. Meanwhile, Insta360 claims that the tiny action camera should last up to 70 minutes on its 500 mAh battery, or 200 minutes when paired with its Action Pad that adds another 1,450 mAh battery.
The Insta360 Go Ultra is available to order from today from Insta360 directly and third-party retailers like Amazon. At launch, the camera's Standard Bundle retails for $449.99 with its Action Pad and a few key accessories. Alternatively, Insta360 charges $50 more for the Creator Bundle, which adds more accessories like a mini 2-in-1 tripod. Please see Insta360's website for more details.
