DJI is preparing to launch its next high-end consumer drone later this month. Based on recent leaks, the drone in question will be the Mini 5 Pro as a replacement for the ageing Mini 4 Pro (curr. $759 on Amazon). Seemingly, DJI has the Osmo Nano waiting in the wings, too.
In summary, the Osmo Nano is anticipated to launch as an alternative to the recent Insta360 Go Ultra with a return to a form factor last seen in 2021 with the release of the DJI Action 2. While leaks about the Osmo Nano have been popping up for months, it turns out that DJI itself has also mentioned its next compact action camera ahead of schedule.
Seemingly, DJI inadvertently posted an Osmo Nano teaser video when it released the Mic 3. Although DJI quickly corrected its mistake, Konrad Iturbe managed to grab evidence confirming the Osmo Nano's existence before the company managed to do so.
As expected, the Osmo Nano will feature a small main unit consisting of a camera housing and associated hardware. Moreover, DJI has created a display module that magnetically attaches to the camera module. Based on prior leaks, this display module can serve as a viewfinder or be rotated around for filming selfie content. According to Jasper Ellens, DJI will release the Osmo Nano on September 10.
