We have previously reported on the manufacturer Havit, which is now launching a new wireless gaming headset with a rather unusual design via a Kickstarter campaign for the so-called Fuxi H8 Pro. As part of this crowdfunding campaign, which involves the usual financial risks for backers, customers can reserve a headset in return for a pledge of €85. Shipping costs and potential import fees are not included. According to current plans, delivery will take place in December. Alternatively, the HTC HP06 with a similar design but different focus are already available via import.
The Fuxi H8 Pro have a rather unusual design. It’s an open-back headset, meaning the cups are not sealed and will let air and sound pass through. In theory, this design should make the headphones rather comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. Havit also opted for comparatively compact drivers that measure 32mm in diameter. According to the manufacturer, this can create the impression of spatial audio. A gyroscope is used to detect head movement and adjust the sound accordingly. That said, it remains to be seen if moving your head back and forth can truly be an alternative to a proper surround sound system.
Either way, two microphones are built-in and are intended to reduce ambient noise on the other ende of the line. When using the 2.4GHz connection, the Fuxi H8 Pro have a latency of 28ms. It is also possible to use Bluetooth and a wired connection via USB Type-C, and lastly, these wireless gaming headphones supposedly last for 30 hours on a full charge.
