Beats by Dre has announced the release of a new special edition of its Solo 4 headphones designed in collaboration with K-pop star Jennie. This marks the second collaboration between the global pop star and Apple-owned Beats, following her campaign for the Beats Solo Buds in 2024.
The Beats Solo 4 – Jennie Special Edition (as it's officially called) features a bold Ruby Red finish, detachable red bows, “R” and “J” lettering on the headband, and ear cushions embellished with motifs referencing the singer's debut solo album, Ruby. The headphones will also come with a color-matched red carrying case.
As with the standard model, the Jennie edition features up to 50 hours of battery life, Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, lossless playback support via USB-C, and compatibility with both iOS and Android devices. And since this is just a redesign, we don't expect this model to support active noise cancelling. That said, the Jennie x Beats Solo 4 headphones will cost $199.99 in the US, the same price as the standard Solo 4.
Some key product specs:
- audio via USB-C, 3.5 mm or Bluetooth 5.3;
- weight: 217 g / 7.65 oz;
- "up to 50" hours of playback;
- 40 mm drivers.
Buyers will be able to purchase the headphones on September 5 on Apple.com and in select Apple Stores globally. Best Buy has already listed the headphones on its website, so there is a chance they will be available at third-party retailers too on launch day.
