Apple just officially confirmed that its next launch event will take place on 9 September 2025. In addition to the iPhone 17 lineup, the Apple Watch Series 11, and a new Apple Watch Ultra, the company may also unveil the third-gen AirPods Pro. Considering Apple’s own Powerbeats Pro 3 (priced at approx. $249 on Amazon) already come equipped with a sensor for monitoring heart rate during workouts, it's likely that a similar sensor could be integrated into the upcoming AirPods Pro 3.
Leaker Majin Bu Official recently claimed to have early details about potential design enhancements to the true wireless earphones. According to the leak, the charging case is also set to be marginally smaller and feature a touch-sensitive surface on the front, replacing the rear setup button previously used for pairing AirPods Pro with non-Apple devices. Beyond initiating pairing mode, this new surface can reportedly be used to control music playback and volume.
Similarly, the earbuds themselves are rumoured to undergo only minor changes compared to their predecessors. This is allegedly because Apple aims to maintain a familiar user experience for those accustomed to existing AirPods Pro. However, Majin Bu Official hinted at the addition of new quality-of-life and health features, though no specific details were provided. As always, such rumours should be taken with a grain of salt, especially since the leaker has a mixed track record for accuracy.
