The Apple iPhone 17 Air is expected to replace the iPhone 16 Plus in Apple's smartphone lineup. At a thickness of 5.5 millimeters, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be the thinnest iPhone ever, and its launch is expected on September 9. Caviar recently unveiled a special edition of the iPhone 17 Air, limited to just 19 units, ahead of the launch.
The "Stealth Carbon Edition" is said to be even thinner and lighter than the original. Caviar has replaced the back with carbon fiber and removed all cameras. This eliminates the camera module, making the smartphone slightly thinner while protecting the user's privacy. However, buyers will not only have to forego the ability to take photos and videos, but also the option of scanning QR codes or documents. Without a front camera, Face ID is also lacking, meaning the device can only be unlocked with a password.
Caviar is also offering two new versions of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max as Stealth Titan and Stealth Titan Gold, available with either a gray or gold titanium back. These models also lack cameras, and the metal back likely means wireless charging and MagSafe will no longer work. These special editions are also limited to 19 units each.
Price and availability
The Caviar Stealth Collection is available for pre-order now from Caviar's online shop, but delivery will not begin until after the Apple iPhone 17 series goes on sale. The iPhone 17 Pro Stealth Titan starts at $9,200, and the iPhone 17 Pro Stealth Gold starts at $8,770.
