With less than a week remaining before Apple unveils its next-generation flagship iPhones, the rumor mill has continued churning out exciting tidbits regarding the upcoming iPhones. According to a recent report by Samik Chatterjee, an Analyst at J.P. Morgan, the upcoming iPhones are expected to boast the following price tags.
- iPhone 17: $799
- iPhone 17 Air: $899 to $949
- iPhone 17 Pro: $1,099
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: $1,199
Clearly, the ongoing tariff wars are set to have their effect, although the pricing changes are quite surprising to say the least. Firstly, the base Apple iPhone 17 will not witness any pricing changes, continuing to start at $799. The iPhone 17 Air, which is set to replace the Plus variant, will either stay at the same price, or witness a $50 bump.
Interestingly, the Apple iPhone 17 Pro will apparently increase in price by a whopping $100, and will start at $1,099. Even more interestingly, its bigger sibling, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, will not receive a price bump, if the report turns out to be true. The iPhone 17 Air - the first of its kind - is in a tricky spot. The device may or may not see a price increase, and will start from either $899 or $949 - hardly an earth-shattering difference.
Now, what is quite confusing, is that the price gap between the Pro and Pro Max iPhone variants has been around $200 for the last two years. The exact reason why the base and highest-end iPhones are escaping price bumps is not clear as of this writing, although any pre-launch murmur should always be taken with a grain of salt.
With roughly around six days remaining, we obviously won't have to wait much longer before finding out ourselves. In the meantime, feel free to check out our detailed rumor roundup for the upcoming Apple iPhone 17 series.
