The Apple iPhone 17 series is set to be officially unveiled on 9 September. Besides four new iPhone 17 models and successors to the Apple Watch Series 10 (priced at around $359 on Amazon) and Apple Watch Ultra 2, the company is reportedly planning to launch a range of accessories, including the brand-new TechWoven cases and crossbody straps. Leaker Majin Bu Official has shared early details about these upcoming straps.
Apple is said to be offering two material options: woven nylon and silicone, each available in multiple colours to complement the new protective cases. Notably, the straps can’t attach directly to an iPhone and must be paired with a TechWoven case, which comes with a built-in connector. They also feature a magnetic mechanism for effortless attachment and removal.
Majin Bu Official further claims that the crossbody straps are magnetic along their entire length, possibly due to integrated metal fibres. Whilst the purpose of this design remains unclear, it may enable seamless length adjustment. The straps might also be compatible with the AirPods Pro 3 – which wouldn’t be surprising given that the AirPods Pro 2’s charging case already supports a hand strap. Pricing for the crossbody straps has yet to be revealed. As always, leaked information of this nature should be taken with a grain of salt, though Apple’s launch event on 9 September is expected to provide more clarity.
