Audio-Technica's new flagship earbuds make Tokyo debut with noise cancellation that adapts to each ear

Audio-Technica is giving listeners in Tokyo an early opportunity to hear its latest flagship wireless earbuds before they reach shops. They are making their public debut at the Autumn Headphone Festival on 7 November, with a second listening event taking place at specialist retailer e-earphone's Akihabara store.
Announced on 5 November, the earbuds introduce Fit-Adaptive noise cancellation, which adjusts to changes in how each earpiece sits in the ear. Audio-Technica says the system uses upgraded MEMS microphones to detect differences in fit and adjust its noise-cancelling filters automatically, including differences between the left and right ears.
High-resolution audio and longer battery life
The ATH-TWX9MK3 also introduces Audio-Technica's Pure Motion Driver Gen2, featuring a 5.8 mm driver with a beryllium-coated diaphragm. Support for the LHDC-V5 codec enables wireless transmission at up to 192 kHz/24-bit when paired with a compatible device.
Battery life is rated at up to 11 hours on a single charge, or up to 33 hours in total with the charging case and noise cancellation enabled. Turning ANC off increases the combined figure to 45 hours. The earbuds also carry an IPX4 splash-resistance rating.
Two chances to listen before launch
Visitors to the Autumn Headphone Festival can try the earbuds at Audio-Technica's booth in Room 503 at Station Conference Tokyo between 11 am and 6 pm JST on 7 November. Admission is free.
Meanwhile, e-earphone's Akihabara store is hosting a separate demonstration from noon until 6 pm the same day.

The earbuds are scheduled for release in Japan on 20 November in black and beige, with Japanese retailer Fujiya-Avic listing them at ¥41,800.
Customers who preorder or purchase through Audio-Technica's official Japanese online store by 27 November can also receive a branded mini pouch with a carabiner, while promotional stocks last.
