Audio-Technica unveils petite ATH-SQ1TW2NC ANC earbuds

Audio-Technica has unveiled the ATH-SQ1TW2NC earbuds with a petite square body in Japan. The 12,980 yen (~$85) earbuds can be pre-ordered today in black, café latte, forest green, gray, pink, or white camel, with shipping beginning on February 27, 2026.
The earbuds use 5.8 mm dynamic drivers, with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz to support low-latency music playback using the standard SBC and AAC codecs over Bluetooth 5.2 connections. They include MEMS microphones, with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 10 kHz, to support active noise cancellation (ANC).
The ANC supports both pass-through and talk-through modes, allowing wearers to hear their surroundings or other speakers without removing the earbuds. When used with the smartphone app, the earbuds can be set on a timer while playing soothing nature sounds, such as the sound of ocean waves, for focused concentration, says A-T.
For accurate sound adjustment, especially while playing ASMR sounds, the volume level adjustment can be switched from 16 steps to 32 or 64 steps. The IPX5-rated water-resistant earbuds come with adjustable touch sensitivity for their controls.
The petite A-T earbuds weigh only 4 g (0.14 oz.) each, yet provide up to 6 hours of runtime between charges with noise cancelling on, according to the company. When used with the charging case, a maximum of 18 hours of runtime is available. The case requires 2.5 hours to recharge.
