Xiaomi Ultrathin Magnetic Power Bank launching globally in new versions
Xiaomi has shared more details about the global rollout its Ultrathin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W accessory. On February 22, Xiaomi clarified that it had added the accessory to its extensive global launch event. Now, it has listed the same power bank on its global website.
In short, the Ultrathin Magnetic Power Bank is a universal alternative to Apple's MagSafe Battery (curr. $99 on Amazon). As its name suggests, Xiaomi's power bank can recharge devices at 15 W wirelessly from its 5,000 mAh battery. Please note that wireless charging capabilities drop to 7.5 W on iPhones but rise to 22.5 W for all devices when using a wired connection.
Also, the powerbank weighs 98 g and measures 98.5 x 71.5 x 6 mm. Initially, Xiaomi sold its compact power bank in a single silver finish. However, its global website confirms that black and orange variants will be available too. Regional availability remains unknown for now. Presumably, Xiaomi will confirm full details on February 28, though. For reference, the Ultrathin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 is officially compatible with the following devices:
