Teile Elektronik has launched the K1 headphones designed for use by disc jockeys following two years of fine tuning in live performance arenas. The company was founded by DJ Rampa, and the design and tuning of the K1 leveraged his experience touring as a professional DJ.
The K1 headband has a strong clamping pressure to maintain a steady hold on DJ heads during performances at clubs and dance halls. This clamping pressure also pushes the earcups firmly against the side of the head, sealing out as much external noise as possible. The K1 does not use active noise cancellation technology. The earpads are replaceable, and the earcups are foldable.
The headphones have the ability to connect to 1/4-inch, 1/8-inch, and USB-C audio sources. When connected to analog sources with the included 180 cm (6 ft.) cable, they have a 32 ohm impedance. The USB-C cable is sold separately.
The K1 uses 40 mm drivers that are tuned for clear, loud, and punchy music reproduction, according to Teile. It also comes with a microphone for calls.
The headphones have an MSRP of 199€ (~$230) and are available from Teile Elektronik.
