Akaso has unveiled its first Akaso 360 action camera to take on the Insta360 X5, which was announced earlier this year. Akaso packs a decent set of features into its latest 360° action camera, from advanced imaging capabilities to an intuitive interface. Design-wise, the Akaso 360 action camera is very similar to the Insta360 X5, with a camera sensor mounted on the upper side while the lower side is covered by a touchscreen.
Akaso has incorporated a dual ½” 48 MP CMOS sensor in the 360 action camera, which is capable of recording footage in 5.7k 30 fps in 360° mode. The action camera also boasts a 360° supersmooth stabilization for steady footage even in motion and a 360° horizon lock to maintain a level view regardless of camera orientation.
Furthermore, the 360 action camera comes with AI tracking, and according to the brand, this feature automatically follows the subject within the frame. Like the Insta360 X5, it also has a 2.29-inch touchscreen, which lets you complete setup and preview your 360° content. As far as the battery is concerned, the Akaso 360 utilizes a 1,350 mAh battery that is officially rated for up to 60 minutes of runtime when recording at 5.7k 30 fps.
Dimensionally, it measures 109.8 x 46.9 x 30.8 mm (4.32 x 1.84 x 1.21 inches) and weighs around 180 grams (0.39 lbs). Other features include a weatherproof design, companion app support for editing and sharing, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, Akaso 360 studio, and an invisible selfie stick effect.
Available in a single black colorway, the Akaso 360 action camera standard bundle is priced at $199.99, while the creator combo costs $249.99. The action camera is now available for purchase via Akaso’s online store and Amazon.
