A few early hints about the successor to the Galaxy S25 Ultra have already been revealed, most recently regarding the battery, a 200-MP sensor and a 5x telephoto camera. However, there have never been as many specs as those posted online by @PandaFlashPro in the last few hours. Even though the leaker emphasizes that this information is "confirmed", this is a bold statement at this point. It is unlikely that Samsung has finalized the spec sheet for its 2026 camera flagship, so the leaker's information should be interpreted as hearsay and rumor that might be true.
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2
In 2026, the top model of the Galaxy S26 series will likely be equipped with the latest Qualcomm chipset, namely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 expected in September. The 6.9-inch display with "COE technology" is expected to be the same size as its predecessor, with only minimal changes to the display bezels. The classic S Pen with digitizer will still be included, but without Bluetooth.
Design and battery specs
Apparently, the basic design of Samsung's flagship camera will remain largely unchanged in 2026. It will retain the quad-cam design of the current model in P format, but without the camera rings, which will also be missing from the Galaxy Z Fold7. The thickness of the titanium casing is expected to be reduced to 8.1 mm (from the current 8.2 mm, which is hardly worth mentioning). All the more surprising that the 5,000 mAh battery with 45-watt fast charging is expected to remain unchanged. The leaker cites the lack of long-term experience with newer battery technologies as the reason, although the battery is said to be significantly optimized.
More RAM and cooling
Samsung apparently intends to equip the Galaxy S25 Ultra with 16 GB of RAM in all storage variants, which reportedly remain unchanged at 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. According to the leaker, the vapor chamber for cooling the processor is 20% larger than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Wi-Fi 7, satellite communication and Qi2 are said to be supported, but the latter is again only available with external magnetic cases. Aside from the camera specs, the focus, as expected, is on new Galaxy AI features, which are increasingly expected to run locally on the device.
Gradual camera upgrade
Four years after the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the ISOCELL HP2 remains the main camera's 200-MP sensor, albeit apparently with a new lens. There's also a 50-MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50-MP 5x telephoto lens and another 3x telephoto lens, although the decision to replace the age-old, small 10-MP sensor has not yet been finalized. Selfie fans can look forward to a new front-facing camera. The new generation of the Pro Visual Engine is expected to bring software improvements to the camera. This apparently includes 4K120 slow motion, while 8K30 and LOG video will continue to be supported, although it is not yet known which sensors will be used.
