Nothing has released a new teaser image that shows the Phone (3)'s telephoto camera for the first time. The flagship handset is scheduled to be unveiled on Tuesday, July 1. This new camera module was placed directly in a corner of the smartphone. Unlike the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro (from $560 on Amazon), the manufacturer didn’t opt for a camera bump that encompasses all three lenses on the back.
Nothing has further released a series of sample pictures. Four of these photos are seemingly intended to showcase the close-up capabilities of the new telephoto camera. Since these images appear to be professionally lit, they offer little insight into the camera's actual quality. However, it looks like Nothing’s HDR processing is too aggressive, which results in lower contrast. Shadows look relatively bright, while highlights are far too dull and make these images look rather unnatural.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei has published four more sample photos, which were apparently taken with the wide-angle camera. These images also show the same low contrast, while colors tend to look very warm. Thus far, Nothing has avoided sharing photos taken under challenging conditions, such as very low light, extremely high contrast, or images of moving objects.
The Nothing Phone (3) will be officially unveiled on July 1, after which the smartphone is expected to launch at prices starting from €799. It has been confirmed that the smartphone will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a 5,150mAh battery, which can be charged via USB-C at up to 65 watts. Nothing is also utilizing a small dot-matrix display on the back, called the Glyph Matrix. As for the rest of the specifications, there are only unconfirmed rumors suggesting that Nothing will include a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP selfie and three 50MP rear cameras.
