The Nothing Phone (3) came out earlier this month, July 1, to a polarized response. While it does a good job at retaining the Nothing aesthetic, it does raise concerns about being called a true flagship and getting rid of the Glyph lighting system in lieu of the Glyph Matrix display. Now, a credible leaker has shared that the Pro models just aren’t cutting it for the company so it is looking to expand its budget portfolio.
The information comes courtesy of known leaker Yogesh Brar on X who previously leaked accurate information about Nothing launching three phones in the first half of 2025. The post states that Nothing could be working on 'Lite' or 'T' branded phones since “Pro models are just not cutting it..” The ‘Lite’ moniker is typically used for budget alternatives and OnePlus does the same with the ‘T’ moniker. Nothing already has a budget lineup with the ‘a’ branding but a broader portfolio seems to be on the cards.
Nothing decided to more openly enter the US market with the Nothing Phone (3) (buy on Amazon). The Nothing Phone (1) was only available in the US through a beta program. The Nothing Phone (2) (buy on Amazon), however, was generally available in US and Canada. The latest phone in the lineup raised some eyebrows with its flagship $800 price tag which put it alongside the Galaxy S25 (buy on Amazon) and the iPhone 16, both of which actually carry flagship hardware.
In the budget segment, the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro are solid offerings priced at $379 and $459 respectively. With the ‘Lite’ and ‘T’ branded models, it is unclear if they will be toned down versions of Nothing Phone (3) or Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, which technically the Phone (3a) already is, or if they will replace the ‘a’ series.
It should be noted that this is a rumor at this point and Nothing has shared no such plans. Take this information with a grain of salt.
