The Nothing Phone (3) was recently announced as the first flagship smartphone from Nothing since 2023's Nothing Phone (2). Opinions on the Phone (3) have been mixed with some liking it while others are averse to it. If you have been hoping for a pro model with better specifications such as a more powerful processor like the Snapdragon 8 Elite or Dimensity 9400+, unfortunately, that won't happen.
Carl Pei, the CEO and founder of Nothing has revealed that the Nothing Phone (3) is the last phone of the Phone (3) family. In a post made on X, Carl Pei shared a collage of all three Nothing phones released this year with the caption ‘the 3 series familia is complete’. This has been deduced to mean that there will be no new model — whether a Pro, Plus, Ultra, or Max — under the Phone (3) series.
It isn't much of a surprise as Nothing's 2025 lineup already caters to all segments. There's the CMF Phone (2) Pro which is priced at $279 and caters to the budget segment and there's the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro which cost $379 and $459 respectively and serves the mid-range and upper mid-range segments. The new Nothing Phone (3) with a $799 starting price caters to the premium category.
While Nothing says the Phone (3) series is complete, that doesn't mean it won't launch any more smartphones this year. There's the Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition which is scheduled for release at the end of the year. It won't differ from the standard Phone (3a) in terms of specifications but it is expected to have a new look, custom UI, accessories, and packaging designed by the winners of the Community Edition project. We also won't rule out the launch of new color options for the Nothing Phone (3) (available on Amazon for $799) which is currently only available in black and white.
