The CMF Phone 1 positioned itself as an affordable yet modular smartphone with some compromises. For instance, the camera setup of the first-gen device lacked versatility, coming with a depth sensor as the secondary camera. With the Phone 2 Pro, however, Nothing appears to have addressed some of those deal-breakers.
One of the major highlights of the new CMF Phone 2 Pro is the improved camera setup. The new affordable smartphone features a 1/1.57-inch sensor as the primary camera, which is said to be capable of capturing 64% more light than the one on the predecessor. It's paired with a 50 MP telephoto, which is a big standout for a phone within the targeted price range.
There's a third camera on the back, and it's an 8 MP ultrawide. On the front, however, there's the same 16 MP selfie shooter that the CMF Phone 1 featured. The camera highlights don't stop there, as the camera setup of the new Phone 2 Pro is now 'modular.'
To be specific, Nothing offers interchangeable lenses for the CMF Phone 2 Pro, including one for a fisheye look and one for macro photography. The back of this new affordable phone is also modular, and among the new accessories is a wallet/stand attachment.
Under the hood, the CMF Phone 2 Pro features the Dimensity 7300 Pro SoC, which is paired with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. There's also a 5,000 mAh battery, and it has support for 33 W fast charging (100 W Anker Prime charger curr. $69.99 on Amazon) and 5 W reverse charging.
Other highlights of this new affordable phone include a 6.77-inch screen with 1080p resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, IP54 water and dust resistance rating, NFC, microSD card slot, and Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.2 out of the box. The base config of the CMF Phone 2 Pro starts at €250, around $285, and it will be available in the US through the Beta Program at $280.
