Oppo has only recently launched the Find X8 Ultra, which it presented earlier this month alongside the Find X8s and Find X8s Plus. Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station has already shed new light on what Oppo has planned for the Find X9 series.
In recent years, Oppo has attempted to set its flagships apart from others with their dual periscope zoom cameras. To that end, the company marketed the Find X8 Ultra as such in contrast to the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,067.99 on Amazon).
Writing on Weibo, Digital Chat Station asserts that Oppo has decided to head in a different direction for the Find X9 Pro. Likely due this autumn sporting a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, the handset was originally expected to feature a quad rear-facing camera set-up just like its predecessor.
Apparently, current prototypes have now moved to a triple camera set-up, though. As far as we can tell, Digital Chat Station implies that the Find X9 Pro will maintain dedicated wide and ultra-wide-angle cameras. Conversely, the Find X8 Pro's twin telephoto solution has been swapped for a single periscope option built around an unnamed 200 MP sensor. While the inclusion of the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 found in the Vivo X200 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra seems possible, we would not be surprised if Oppo opted for a newer sensor to distinguish the Find X9 Pro from existing flagship options.
