The first international launch of the Vivo X Fold5 is fast approaching. Already available to import globally running OriginOS 5 via third parties, the X Fold5 holds the record with the Magic V5 as the world's lightest book-style foldable at 217 g while offering a 9.2 mm overall thickness in its Titanium colour option.
As we have discussed previously, the X Fold5 will be joining the X200 FE in India on July 14. For context, the latter is already available across Europe and Southeast Asia. Please see our X200 FE launch article for more details about Vivo's Dimensity 9300+ powered compact flagship.
In the meantime, Abhishek Yadav claims to have received exclusive information about how much the pair will cost in India. Unsurprisingly, the X200 FE is the cheaper of the pair with an INR 54,999 (~$641) starting price when configured with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the device should be available with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for INR 59,999 (~$700).
Meanwhile, the X Fold5 is said to retail for INR 149,999 (~$1,750) to undercut the X Fold3 Pro by INR 20,000 (~$233). Apparently, Vivo will sell the former exclusively with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage despite offering a cheaper 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant in China for what currently converts to about INR 95,599 (~$1,115). For reference, the X Fold5 features the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset as the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $999 - refurbished on Amazon) rather than the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the Oppo Find N5 and the soon-to-be announced Galaxy Z Fold7. Please see our X Fold5 launch article for more hardware details.
