The OnePlus 13R launched globally on July 1 and it is essentially a toned-down version of the flagship OnePlus 13. It makes some cut backs to bring the price down but still delivers great performance, a beautiful display, and impressive endurance (review). For Amazon Prime Day, the phone has been discounted by $100, making it even better value, despite its cut backs.
OnePlus 13R specifications and features
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the OnePlus 13R comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage (the only configuration available in the US). It features a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 2,780 x 1,264 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It reaches a peak 1,600 nits full panel brightness.
There are three cameras at the back which include a 50 MP primary camera with Sony's LYT-700 sensor, a 50 MP telephoto, and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angel camera. From the looks of it, it could be one of the last OnePlus phones with the Hasselblad partnership. At the front is a 16 MP selfie shooter. What makes the phone stand apart from the competition, and lends to its excellent endurance, is the 6,000 mAh Silicon-Carbon battery. Adding to that is support for up to 80W fast charging. OnePlus has also managed to achieve an IP65 rating for the OnePlus 13R.
The phone measures 161.72 x 75.77 x 8.02 mm and weighs 206g. There is no wireless charging, eSIM support, and it uses a USB 2.0 interface, but those are some of the compromises that come with the lower MSRP.
OnePlus 13R Prime Day deal
The OnePlus 13R comes in Nebula Noir and Astral Trail colors. Both are discounted by $100 on Amazon for Prime Day which puts the phone at $500. Prime Day will end on July 11 but inventory could run out sooner.
