OnePlus recently launched two new Ace 5 series smartphones in China: the Ace 5 Ultra and the Ace 5 Racing Edition. Both are performance-focused devices powered by the Dimensity 9400+ and Dimensity 9400e chipsets, respectively. A new leak has emerged online, revealing details of a new OnePlus gaming-centric phone.
The leak comes from tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo. Although the tipster does not reveal the name of the phone, they confirm that it belongs to the Ace series. It is possible that this device belongs to the next-gen Ace 6 lineup.
According to the tipster, the phone will have a large battery capacity close to 8,000mAh. For comparison, the newly launched Ace 5 Ultra and Ace Racing Edition feature 6,700mAh and 7,100mAh batteries, respectively. Moreover, the company’s flagship phone, the OnePlus 13 (curr. $949 on Amazon), has a 6,000mAh battery capacity.
The tipster also states that the upcoming phone will have game shoulder buttons, a feature typically found in gaming phones such as the RedMagic 10 Air. However, the tipster did not reveal any further information regarding the phone. Previously, a leak suggested that the new Ace 6 series phone will feature a 1.5K display.
The leaker adds that the phone will arrive by the end of this year. Besides the gaming phone, OnePlus is also said to be working on a compact tablet. Additionally, the company is expected to launch its next-gen flagship, the OnePlus 15, in the last quarter of the year.
