Nothing has finally shown off a new high-end smartphone: the Phone (3). It comes with a new, visually distinct design, a high-end Qualcomm SoC and three rear camera modules.

After months of leaks, rumours, hype and speculation, the Nothing Phone (3) is finally here. This time, Nothing offers it in two colour variants: Black and White. And yes, the iconic glyph interface has been replaced with a dot-matrix screen featuring 489 individually addressable LED lights, similar to those found on high-end Asus ROG gaming laptops.

The Phone (3) now has a dedicated Glyph button that lets you cycle between multiple widgets, such as a battery indicator, a mirror for aligning selfies, a digital clock, a stopwatch, a magic 8-ball, a spin-the-bottle feature, and a leveller to check alignment. More features will arrive via an OTA update later.

Nothing and leaks left little to the imagination, revealing most of what the Phone (3) has lined up well in advance. As shown by teasers, it comes with three rather asymmetrically placed camera modules—a 50 MP (1/1.3" sensor) wide-angle lens with OIS, a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS and 6x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. At the front, a smaller 50 MP module handles selfies and video calls.

The cameras can record 4K video with XDR, a proprietary technology from Nothing. The Nothing Phone (3) comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ (1,260 x 2,800) AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate (adaptive), 4,500 nits peak brightness while playing HDR content, 1,600 nits full-screen brightness, 1,000 Hz touch sampling rate, and a PWM dimming frequency of 2,160 Hz.

Under the hood, Nothing uses a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC from Qualcomm to power the Phone (3) that can be paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It draws power from a 5,100 mAh battery that charges at 65 Watts. Interestingly, its Indian variant increases the capacity to 5,500 mAh. Qi 1.3 wireless charging is also included.

Lastly, the Nothing Phone (3) will receive seven years of software support, including five major Android updates, all skinned with NothingOS. An under-display fingerprint sensor enables biometric authentication. Wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and 5G. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass protects the smartphone, which is also IP68 rated.

Price and availability

And now for the most important bit: its price. The Nothing Phone (3) isn't exactly inexpensive and will set you back €799 for the base variant (12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage). The top-spec model (16 GB RAM, 512 GB storage) will cost you €899 EUR.
