Leaker Jasper Ellens has indicated that DJI's long-awaited 360-degree action camera may hit shelves slightly earlier than expected. For context, the leaker reported earlier this month that DJI had rescheduled the Osmo 360's official launch from July 15 to July 29. As a result, the action camera was thought to be arriving with the Mic 3 wireless microphone in a dual release.
Now, Ellens asserts that the Osmo 360 could arrive out of nowhere as soon as tomorrow. Typically, DJI posts a teaser signalling an upcoming device's release about a week before the date of its launch event. To that end, the company officially announced its Mavic 4 Pro (curr. $4,230 on Amazon) event ahead of time. This time, DJI has not mentioned anything yet about introducing a new action camera.
Nonetheless, Ellens reports that a European retailer claims it will have stock of the Osmo 360 on July 24. Unfortunately, the leaker has not provided any concrete evidence that this will be the case. As a result, we would recommend exercising caution for the time being as this could merely be an error on the retailer's part. Specifications and alleged launch pricing have already emerged online though, full details of which we have covered separately. Incidentally, we have reproduced some of those images below too.
