Original article continues as follows:
Igor Bogdanov has shared new details about DJI's long-awaited 360-degree action camera. The first of its kind by the company, the Osmo 360 is set to do battle with the Insta360 X5 (curr. $549.99 on Amazon) and the GoPro Max 2 that was officially teased earlier this month. While GoPro has not suggested when the Max 2 will officially debut, the Osmo 360 is expected to arrive on July 29 with the Mic 3 wireless microphone as a dual release.
Just yesterday, Bogdanov leaked a new Osmo 360 promotional image that showed the action camera being used with its first-party Battery Extension Bar. Now, the leaker has provided a look at official retail packaging. Allegedly obtained from a reader, the images confirm earlier leaks while also indicating launch pricing for the first time.
At this stage, it is unclear in what currency the Osmo 360 and its optional Adventure Combo are being sold. While it would appear that the prices are shown in US dollars, Bogdanov insists that the Osmo 360 will start for between $505 and $515. As a result, we suspect these $759 and $989 prices for the Osmo 360 and Osmo 360 Adventure Combo could be in Canadian dollars that Bogdanov has then deducted 5% VAT.
Regardless, the images show that the Osmo 360 contains a 120 MP camera as previous leaks claimed. Capable of 8K/30 FPS video recordings, the Osmo 360 appears to be only capable of capturing 120 MP photos when its 360-degree mode is active. DJI's first 360-degree action camera will feature a 1-inch camera sensor unlike the Osmo Action 5 Pro and other recent Osmo cameras. Please see the images throughout for more details.
