The launch of two new GoPro action cameras is just a day away. Confirmed over the weekend, the forthcoming models will be GoPro's first releases since February when it introduced the Max (2025) (curr. $249 on Amazon).
Shortly after GoPro's official announcement, various sources started posting fresh information about the Max 2, whose existence GoPro itself confirmed in July. Additionally, it was suggested that the company would be complementing the Max 2 with the Lit Hero rather than the Hero 14 Black.
Leakers billbil-kun and Roland Quandt have since reiterated as much in separate leaks. According to the former, GoPro intends to offer the Lit Hero for $269.99 in the US, €269.99 in the Eurozone and £239.99 in the UK.
Meanwhile, the Max 2 is set to start at £449.99 and £519.99. Presumably, GoPro is hoping to draw 360° action camera fans away from the Insta360 X5, which has become the go-to model since its initial release over a year ago.
At this stage, billbil-kun is unsure about US pricing. Conversely, the leaker believes that the Max 2 will ship on September 30, with the Lit Hero following on October 21. At this stage, the Lit Hero sounds like a refined GoPro Hero, which the company launched last year. Incidentally, DJI will be releasing the Osmo Nano tomorrow, whose retail packaging has leaked at the last minute too.
