DJI is on the verge of launching its second consumer device this month after releasing the Mini 5 Pro in all but the US earlier this week. As we have covered separately, DJI has indicated that a tiny action camera called the Osmo Nano is next up, albeit without an accompanying and long-rumoured Osmo Action 6 in sight.
Initial details about the Osmo Nano emerged months ago. Likewise, the design of DJI's new action camera has been known for some time. However, it has taken until now for hardware specifications to surface.
According to billbil_kun, DJI has equipped the Osmo Nano with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS camera that combines a 143° field of view (FoV), 2,4 μm wide pixels and 13.5 stops of dynamic range. Apparently, the camera can record 10-bit D-Log videos in 4K and up to 60 FPS too, or 120 FPS for those looking to create slow motion videos.
In other words, the Osmo Nano appears to share its camera hardware with the Osmo Action 5 Pro (curr. $349 on Amazon), despite being significantly smaller at 57.3 x 29.5 x 28 mm. Moreover, billbil_kun alleges that the Osmo Nano supports up to 90 minutes of battery life or 200 minutes when including its display module. Incidentally, the latter features 720p OLED display within its IPX4 and 59.1 x 42.2 x 22.3 mm housing.
DJI will release the Osmo Nano globally on September 23. Based on previous leaks, the action camera will rival the Insta360 Go 3S and newer Go Ultra with a €369 starting price or €399 for a variant that doubles the camera's built-in storage to 128 GB.
