Baseus has announced the upcoming launch of the Security X1 Pro, which is claimed to be the world's first smart home security camera with dual AI tracking. This means that the two integrated cameras can independently track two moving people, animals or objects. This can be useful, for example, if two people are detected trespassing on the property at night and are moving in different directions. Depending on their features, conventional security cameras can only one of the mobile targets by rotating and tilting. The new Baseus model solves this by using AI detection to monitor two things simultaneously.
According to Baseus, the Security X1 Pro is equipped with two 3K cameras with spotlights, which can monitor a total area of 300 degrees. Thanks to flexible mounting options, the surveillance camera can be installed in a variety of ways, such as on the corner of a house. A solar panel is installed for power supply. Thanks to a memory card with up to 512 GB capacity, videos can be stored completely locally and without a costly subscription. Furthermore, recordings can be searched and filtered thanks to AI.
Baseus plans to launch the Security X1 Pro on Kickstarter on October 16, exactly one month from now. Interested parties can secure a early-bird price of $139.99 for a deposit of $2, which also includes a free a 64 GB microSD memory card. But this is a reservation only: since this will be a crowdfunding campaign, there is a risk that the product may not meet its funding target and so fail to materialise. Given that Baseus is a well-established manufacturer with a wide portfolio of successful products, this is unlikely to occur.
