We are fast approaching the first anniversary of the Osmo Action 5 Pro (curr. $349 on Amazon), which DJI released in September 2024 to rival the GoPro Hero 13. While recent DJI-related camera leaks have focused on the Osmo 360, an increasing amount of evidence exists about DJI actively developing the Osmo Action 6, too.
For instance, the Federal Communications Commission published photos of the latter in February. Now, leaker Mauro Tandoi has reposted a photo of what they believe is DJI's next conventional action camera. Allegedly sourced from an uncited forum or perhaps even just TikTok, the image appears to be a still from a video, given the play button silhouette that is visible.
Ultimately, the design shown bears a closer resemblance to the existing Osmo Action 5 Pro than the Osmo Action 6 prototype that appeared on the FCC in the winter. Either way, leakers like Jasper Ellens believe that DJI will introduce a true successor to the Osmo Action 4 after the summer ends. At this stage, no specifications have emerged concerning the Osmo Action 6, nor has prospective launch pricing. Nonetheless, all evidence points towards DJI maintaining its current Osmo Action design language for at least another generation.
