Insta360's next action camera edges closer to being released. Arriving after Insta360 refreshed its popular 360° camera to rival the DJI Osmo 360, leaked specifications and images reveal plenty of details about the Insta360 Go Ultra ahead of its anticipated summer release.

Roland Quandt and WinFuture have shared more details about Insta360's next release, shortly after the company refreshed the Insta360 X5 with a new limited edition variant (curr. $549 on Amazon). Reiterating an earlier leak, Quandt claims that Insta360's next action camera will arrive as the Go Ultra rather than the Go 4.

As the leaked promotional images show, the Go Ultra is exceptionally small at 30 x 30 mm. However, these dimensions make the Go Ultra slightly larger than the Insta360 Go 3S, which comes in at 25.6 x 24.8 x 54.4 mm. With that being said, the Go Ultra still only weighs 53 g and appears to be much flatter overall than the Go 4 thanks to its squarer form factor.

According to Quandt, the Go Ultra relies on a new 1/1.28-inch sensor that can capture videos at up to 4K just like the Go 3S. The peak frame rate has jumped from 30 FPS to 60 FPS though and is joined by the promise of improved image quality across all conditions, thanks to twice as much light being captured as on the Go 3S. A new ambient light sensor joins the 1/1.28-inch camera sensor, as does FlowState stabilisation, 360° horizon locking, and a 156° field of view (FoV).

Apparently, the Go Ultra can go from 0% to 80% charge in 10 minutes too, courtesy of faster wired charging capabilities. As always, Insta360 will offer optional accessories for expanding the Go Ultra's versatility, including a viewfinder that attaches and detaches magnetically. Unfortunately, pricing and availability remain unknown at this stage.
