DxOMark ranks Oppo Find X8 Ultra as best camera phone

Oppo's Find X8 Ultra has now been ranked in the top position on DxOMark's list of best camera phones. This came after DxOMark introduced a new V6 testing protocol, which also changed the placements of some of the other flagships that are on the list.

As for the Find X8 Ultra, it has achieved an overall score of 169 on DxOMark's camera test. This has put the Snapdragon 8 Elite-equipped Oppo flagship phone on top of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, which was previously in the lead. Huawei's current top-end smartphone, in comparison, now has the second spot with 163 points.

DxOMark notes that the Find X8 Ultra can offer a well-balanced camera experience. On the test carried out by the firm, the flagship phone could deliver consistent results across the board. The team found the Photo Portrait mode to deliver precise subject separation and noted the Bokeh effect to be realistic.

In addition, the smartphone offered good HDR outputs in both video and photo tests across different lighting conditions. DxOMark further notes that the Find X8 Ultra can offer vibrant yet natural color rendering in portrait and landscape scenarios, which is said to remain consistent even under moderately challenging conditions.

The phone's zoom performance has also been praised by the team, and the cameras are said to have maintained high detail fidelity at long and medium range tests. Regarding the cases where the Find X8 Ultra fell short, DxOMark notes that the team has observed occasional color instabilities.
