Boya Notra Neo launches with AI-powered meeting transcriptions, summaries, and recordings and MagSafe mount
Boya has unveiled the Notra Neo, an AI-powered voice recorder designed to simplify note-taking during calls and meetings. The device has modes for ambient recording, phone call recording, and Bluetooth recording modes for use in different scenarios. The recorder comes with on-board and cloud storage for convenient file management.
The Notra Neo supports transcription in more than 140 languages and includes smart speaker identification to help distinguish between participants in the transcriptions. Beyond basic transcription, the AI can generate summaries, action items, and mind maps using more than 60 professional templates. According to Boya, users can use Ask AI to find specific information across their recorded files.
The petite recorder is equipped with 8 GB of local storage and can record continuously for up to 20 hours, notes Boya, with recharging taking 1.5 hours. Dual MEMS microphones and AI speech technology are used for clear recordings up to 5 m (16.4 ft.) away, says the company.
Recordings are synchronized to the cloud, which has free unlimited storage, using the Boya OS smartphone app. These can be accessed on computers for further editing and review. Users can export files in 10 formats, including MP3, WAV, DOC, TXT, PDF, and JPEG.
The company says information is end-to-end encrypted, with compliance with privacy standards such as HIPAA for patient recordings.
The Boya Notra Neo has a price of $79.99 and is available in black, white, neon yellow, and light pink from the company website and Amazon. It weighs 34.5 g (1.2 oz.) and measures 63 x 63 x 8 mm (2.5 x 2.5 x 0.3 in.).
The recorder has three plan options: Starter, Pro, and Ultimate. Starter is free and comes with 600 minutes of free transcriptions per month and 10 preset templates, while Pro costs $17.99/month and comes with 1,280 minutes of transcription per month, 40 preset templates, custom templates, and the Ask AI chatbot. Ultimtate costs $29.99/month, unlocking unlimited transcriptions and all 60 preset templates.
