As is typical, Xiaomi is preparing the Redmi K90 series to launch in China in the coming months. These phones, the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro, will go on to be rebaged as the Poco F8 series globally, and new leaks have now provided some key information on them.
For one, the Redmi K90 has now been certified at China's 3C with the model number "2510DRK44C". It's unclear if this particular device is the Redmi K90 or the K90 Pro, but that means one of the Poco F8 models will be coded as "2510DRK44G", with the "G" indicating that it's for the global market.
The listing confirms the presence of Xiaomi's 100 W charging protocol, and word on the grapevine claims Xiaomi will equip the duo with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with the latter being on the Pro model. According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi has no Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 devices in the works at the moment, so it's unlikely the company offers any models with that chipset till next year.
As shared by Smart Pikachu, the Redmi K90 series will offer batteries with capacities north of 7,000 mAh—although we expect the Poco F8 series to get smaller batteries. In addition to that, the vanilla Redmi K90 will sport a 6.6-inch 2K display, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, symmetrical speakers, and a metal middle frame. Lastly, that phone is also rumored to finally come equipped with a zoom lens, albeit not a periscope one, and it's expected that the Poco F8 Pro also benefits from that.
