Ahead of its expected October launch, OnePlus has officially showcased the display of its upcoming flagship smartphone. The OnePlus 15’s display is expected to introduce major changes over its predecessor.
Louis Lee, the president of OnePlus China, has posted a new video on Weibo. The video highlights ColorOS 16 running on the OnePlus 15. Additionally, it shows that the upcoming smartphone has a flat display with slim bezels. There is a punch-hole notch housing the selfie camera in the top center of the screen, similar to the OnePlus 13. The device appears to have rounded corners.
While OnePlus has not shared display specifications, it was previously leaked to feature a next-gen BOE X3 Oriental panel. It is said to have a 6.78-inch display with a 1.5K resolution. The key highlight will be its 165Hz refresh rate, which is typically found in gaming phones such as the ROG Phone 8 Pro. For comparison, the OnePlus 13 has a larger 6.82-inch BOE X2 Oriental screen with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Separately, the company has also confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. OnePlus reveals the smartphone will also feature an in-house gaming engine. It is said to help in sustaining maximum frame rates, offer native GPU frame generation, and deliver 165fps gameplay.
