The Vivo X300 Pro didn't impress in every aspect of our review, but the flagship smartphone nevertheless received the highest rating in our scoring system and has the best camera setup currently available in a smartphone.
The Vivo X300 Pro features three Zeiss-branded camera lenses on the back. Although it doesn't use a 1-inch sensor like the Oppo Find X8 Ultra or Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the new Sony sensor (LYT-828) produces very good photos with well-balanced sharpness and appealing dynamic range. The depth of field also appears well-executed. Thanks to its dedicated VS1 image processor, the successor to the X200 Pro shows no weaknesses in low light.
The best camera smartphone comes with a Sony sensor and Zeiss support
The X300 Pro also shines when it comes to video recording. The flagship model supports UHD video at up to 120 fps, as well as an 8K30 option, though the latter lacks HDR and LOG support.
The optional Zeiss teleconverter with a 200mm focal length is particularly noteworthy, as it noticeably improves image quality. In our tests, photos taken with the teleconverter appeared more natural, detailed and less oversharpened than those taken with digital zoom alone.
