Leaked Vivo X Fold6 import prices suggest bad news for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra buyers in July

The Vivo X Fold 6 hasn’t even been officially unveiled yet, but two retailers are already offering it in their online stores, as we discovered today, June 20 2026. The two retailers are Trinity Electronics in Hong Kong and Average Dad in the UAE/UK, which are known as importers of primarily Chinese smartphones. According to Trinity Electronics, the entry-level Vivo X Fold6 model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is expected to cost 12,200 HKD (€1,357, $1,557). At AverageDad this Vivo foldable can already be pre-ordered for 1,435 Euros for Germany or 1,646 US-Dollar in the US, with taxes and customs duties already included.
For the 16/512 GB model, the price is 1,491 euros (US$ 1,710) at Trinity Electronics and 1,564 euros (US$ 1,794) at AverageDad. The top-of-the-line model with 1 TB of storage costs 1,625 euros (US$ 1,863) or 1,764 euros (US$ 2,024), respectively. Average Dad says July 7, 2026 will be the first shipping date, while Trinity Electronics currently lists availability as late June to early July. Since Vivo has not yet announced the official retail prices in China, we don’t know whether these prices are realistic estimates or whether other dealers like Tradingshenzhen will surprise us with significantly lower prices after launch.
More than 32% more expensive than its predecessor?
However, the price level of the Vivo X Fold 6 China model appears to be significantly higher than that of its predecessor, which was already available from import retailers such as Tradingshenzhen or Wondamobile starting at 1,027 euros for the 12/256 GB version at the end of June 2025 — also including local taxes in Germany. If the current prices are indeed final, this would represent a price increase of at least 32 percent in one year. Hence, we do not currently recommend placing a pre-order, as prices could potentially drop after the launch.
Higher prices for Galaxy Z Fold 8 and others
In any case, these high prices do not bode well for the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event expected on July 22, where, in addition to the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (available here on Amazon US), the more compact iPhone Ultra rival Galaxy Z Fold 8 as well as the Galaxy Z Flip 8 are also expected. Indications from the supply chain already pointed to price increases for Samsung’s foldables a few days ago. The very first Apple foldable is also expected to reach entirely new price dimensions.
