Anyone who thought that Honor had copied enough iPhones after launching the Power 2 mid-range model in the iPhone 17 Pro look is mistaken. Another member of the high-end Magic8 family will also be heavily based on the design of an Apple flagship, as shown by the many official press photos of the Honor Magic8 Pro Air leaked today, January 8, 2026. These are not yet available on the Honor website, but they have been leaked multiple times on Chinese network Weibo and show at least four mostly very colorful variants of the iPhone Air competitor, including the orange shade of the iPhone 17 Pro, which was certainly chosen unintentionally.
Honor Magic8 Pro Air specs
Some specs are already known, based on what appears to be an official Honor poster circulating online. According to this poster, the slim Honor phone with a case thickness of 6.1 mm is slightly thicker than the iPhone Air at 5.6 mm, but Honor beats Apple's model in terms of weight. At 155 grams, it is slightly lighter than the iPhone Air at 165 grams. Where Honor truly shines, however, is in the battery. While Apple has only installed a 3,149 mAh battery in its slim device, Honor has a full 5,500 mAh battery. This surpasses the standard-thick Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and significantly overshoots the 5.8 mm thin Galaxy S25 Edge with its 3,900 mAh battery.
Honor Magic8 Pro Air real images
Another photo supposedly shows two of the four color options for the Honor Magic8 Pro Air in real life, although we're not entirely sure if these are actually real devices or just dummy models. In terms of camera design, Honor has clearly taken inspiration from Apple, utilizing the right-hand side of the camera bar for additional sensors. Whether these are actually useful cameras or, like the Honor Power 2, just 5 MP sensors, remains to be seen. The slim Magic 8 model is expected to launch soon in China; whether it will be released in Europe also remains unknown.
