The Samsung Galaxy S26 series may still be over half a year away from launch but a new leak has now claimed to reveal camera info on the flagship phones. As shared by leaker Jukanlosreve, the vanilla Galaxy S26 is poised to finally get a new main camera, but it's not all good news.
Reportedly, the Galaxy S26 will come equipped with a 50 MP Sony camera. That sensor is said to have a 1μm pixel size, the same as the ISOCELL GN3 on the Galaxy S25 and its predecessors going back to the Galaxy S22 series. Seeing as it's a 50 MP sensor like the GN3, that indicates the new Sony sensor will be a 1/1.56-inch one as well. In which case this new sensor would be a technical side-grade.
Interestingly, the Galaxy S26 Edge is also tipped to get the same 50 MP sensor as the vanilla Galaxy S26—on paper a downgrade from the 200 MP snapper on the Galaxy S25 Edge (buy on Amazon). The Galaxy S26 Ultra looks set to be equipped with the same sensor as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the 200 MP ISOCELL HP2 also used on the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The leak makes no mention of the Galaxy S26+, potentially lending credence to reports of Samsung sunsetting the Plus model in favor of the new Edge. According to leaker Max Jambor, however, a decision hasn't been made on that, with Samsung supposedly waiting to see how the new Galaxy S25 Edge performs first.
