OnePlus has announced a new 100W GaN charger that is a fraction of the size of the OnePlus SuperVOOC 100W Power Adapter. Called the OnePlus 100W Compact SuperVOOC GaN Charger, the new power brick is already available to buy in China.
The OnePlus 100W Compact SuperVOOC GaN Charger has a design similar to a square bottle with a round cap. OnePlus says the charger is a third of the size of the OnePlus SuperVOOC 100W Power Adapter (available on Amazon for $20.98). It measures 56 x 33.5 x 33.5 millimeters and weighs just 87 grams. There's a single USB-C port at the top and the plug is foldable to make it easy to stow away.
The new charger supports multiple charging protocols including Oppo's SuperVOOC, Power Delivery 3.0, PPS, UFCS, and Quick Charge 3.0, thus allowing it to charge multiple devices including high-power ones such as a laptop. OnePlus also says it has a power density of about 1.6W per cubic meter and a conversion efficiency of about 93.2%.
The OnePlus 100W Compact SuperVOOC GaN Charger isn't actually new, but a rebadge of the Oppo 100W Compact SuperVOOC GaN Charger that launched earlier alongside the Find X8 series. The only difference is that Oppo's charger has a yellow bottom while the OnePlus charger has a gray bottom.
Like its Oppo equivalent, the OnePlus 100W Compact SuperVOOC GaN Charger comes with a 10A braided magnetic cable. The magnetic design of the cable prevents it from tangling and also allows it to be easily stored.
The OnePlus 100W Compact SuperVOOC GaN Charger is available to buy now in China for CNY199 (~$28/€24) with the cable included. There's no info yet about global availability, but you should be able to import it through third-party sellers.
