Xiaomi launches new 100W GaN charger with an initial price of ~$28

The Xiaomi 100W GaN charger is the latest addition to the company's growing list of accessories. It launched in China at CNY 199, which is about $28. While that's an attractive price tag, the power adapter has only one USB-C port, meaning you can't charge multiple devices simultaneously.

However, the good part is that the 100W charger supports multiple standards, including PD 3.0, QC 3.0, and other mainstream protocols. This means the power adapter can charge laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other devices.

Although it doesn't have a folding plug, the design is said to be travel-friendly. This new fast charger utilizes GaN tech, making it around 28% smaller than most of the other power adapters. The adapter also ships with a 1.8-meter cable, ideal for most setups.

There are a good number of protections as well, including over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature, and short-circuit. These ensure stable and safe charging.

As for the global availability of this 100W GaN charger, there's no word from Xiaomi yet, but the company does bring most of the accessories outside the Chinese market.
