The Razr 60 Ultra is Motorola's latest flip smartphone, and it finally comes with a truly high-end processor. Why this is both a blessing and a curse is explained in the following summary of our review.

Users who appreciate high-quality smartphone builds are in the right place with the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra: the back of the model is covered with either Alcantara or a wood-based material, and a silky pink is also available. The hinge has been reinforced so that users do not need to worry about its durability. On the other hand, no changes to the display crease appear to have been made. It is still subtle, but not invisible either.

The Razr 60 Ultra is completely waterproof, so users can even take it diving in shallow water. However, it is not completely protected against dust ingress; the folding mechanism is a particular weak point here.

The battery is now larger and a few grams heavier than that of the predecessor, but provides over 15 hours of battery life in our Wi-Fi test. Charging is now even faster: up to 68 watts via cable and 30 watts wirelessly are possible. Another highlight is the choice of processor: Last year's model had to make do with a slimmed-down high-end processor, namely the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This year's model now has the full power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, catapulting the Razr 60 Ultra to the top of the flip smartphone performance range.

Unfortunately, this processor upgrade is not entirely without shortcomings, as the Razr smartphone simply has too little surface area to adequately cool the SoC. This quickly becomes apparent during demanding tasks; in our benchmark tests, the Razr 60 Ultra repeatedly displayed overheating warnings, resulting in the cancellation of benchmark tests. It can also happen that the smartphone simply switches off when it gets too hot. Moreover, holding the Razr 60 Ultra under high load can get uncomfortable since the frame and casing can heat up to 60°C.

For those who don't usually run overly complex apps on their smartphone and are simply looking for a stylish flip phone with great battery life, the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra is a good choice. How the cameras and other aspects of the smartphone perform are revealed in our detailed review.
