The Redmi K90 Pro Max is currently thought to have laid the groundwork for the Poco F8 Ultra, with Xiaomi having based this year's Poco F7 Ultra (curr. $735.50 on Amazon) on the slightly older Redmi K80 Pro. To that end, recent leaks have already identified the Poco F8 Ultra as the global version of the Redmi K90 Pro Max.
Unfortunately, evidence has already emerged to suggest that a battery downgrade is on the cards. Apparently, a switch to a 6,500 mAh battery will coincide with Xiaomi offering the Poco F8 Ultra in fewer configurations than the Redmi K90 Pro Max. According to Paras Guglani, Xiaomi hopes to sell the Poco F8 Ultra in Black and Denim Blue finishes, or two fewer than the Redmi K90 Pro Max.
In other words, the leaker expects the Poco F8 Ultra to miss out on the Redmi K90 Pro Max's. Not only that, but the former may arrive with significantly fewer memory options than its Chinese counterpart. While the Redmi K90 Pro Max is available in four memory options, the Poco F8 Ultra is rumoured to drop to just two.
Namely, Guglani asserts that the Poco F8 Ultra will start at 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, just like its predecessor and the Redmi K90 Pro Max. Sadly, the leaker tips the Poco F8 Ultra to also come with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, with a 1 TB option not making its way out of China. Currently, the Poco F8 Ultra is expected to join the Poco F8 Pro in a simultaneous release either in late 2025 or in early 2026.
