Xiaomi launched the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra earlier this year without the cheaper Poco F7 in tow. While the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra arrived globally at the end of March, Xiaomi waited another three months before releasing Poco F7 (curr. $519 on Amazon). Now, Paras Guglani implies that Xiaomi is preparing to pull a similar move for the Poco F8 series.
Currently, the leaker expects to unveil the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra either in late 2025 or early 2026 at the latest. In the meantime, Guglani reports that the former will be available in Black, Blue and Titanium Silver colour options. Incidentally, these colours replicate all but one of the Redmi K90's finishes, upon which the Poco F8 Pro is anticipated to be based.
Guglani does not believe that Xiaomi will bring across all of the Redmi K90's memory configurations either. For context, Xiaomi sells the Redmi K90 with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Alternatively, the handset can be configured with 512 GB of storage in 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM variants, as well as base 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB SKUs.
According to Guglani, only 12 GB of RAM options will be available globally. If that is the case, then the Poco F8 Pro will only match its direct predecessor, which Xiaomi sells with 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. Thankfully though, the 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB variant from the Poco F6 will not be returning for a new generation. The Poco F8 Pro is unlikely to feature the 7,100 mAh battery that Xiaomi uses inside the Redmi K90 either if a recent leak is anything to go by.
