Xiaomi has now followed up its Xiaomi 17 flagships with the Redmi K90 series, which it has introduced today in China as the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max. For context, the Redmi K90 replaces the Redmi K80, which went on to form the Poco F7 Pro globally (curr. $579.99 on Amazon). As such, the Redmi K90 packs a punch despite its mid-range status.
Specifically, Xiaomi equips the Redmi K90 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 3D vapor chamber cooling solution and a 7,100 mAh silicon carbon battery that supports 100 W wired charging. Additionally, this year's entry-level Redmi K model drops from a 6.67-inch display to a 6.59-inch equivalent, which helps it achieve 157.49 x 75.25 x 8 mm dimensions and a 206 g overall weight.
Moreover, the OLED display outputs at 2,510 x 1,156 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness with DC dimming support. Apparently, the display can drop to just 1 nit when needed in order to minimise eye strain in low-light conditions. Also, Xiaomi has crammed in the following camera hardware:
- Primary: Light Hunter 800, 50 MP, 1/1.55-inch, f/1.88 aperture, OIS
- Telephoto: 50 MP, f/2.2 aperture, 2.5x optical zoom
- Ultra-wide-angle: 8 MP, 120° FoV, f/2.2 aperture
- Front-facing: 20 MP
Unfortunately, there is no word yet on global availability. For reference, the Redmi K90 starts at CNY 2,599 (~$365) in China with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. As always, Xiaomi offers multiple memory configurations for those who need more RAM, storage or both. The full memory options in which the Redmi K90 is available are as follows:

- 16 GB RAM/256 GB storage - CNY 2,899 (~$407)
