OnePlus has shared new details about its Ace 6 smartphone before the device's official launch next week. Scheduled to arrive alongside the OnePlus 15 on October 27, the Ace 6 was spotted on Geekbench just yesterday. As we discussed at the time, the few Geekbench listings that were visible showed the Ace 6 matching or outperforming the OnePlus 13 in multi-core benchmarks (curr. $849 on Amazon).
Now OnePlus has confirmed that the Ace 6 relies upon Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, just like the OnePlus 13 before it. Moreover, the Ace 6 boasts an upgraded Gaming Network Chip G2, which OnePlus claims delivers better cellular and Wi-Fi performance than earlier examples. Likewise, the device features a Lingxi Touch Chip to maximise touchscreen responsiveness when gaming.
The Ace 6 also utilises a 'Glacier Cooling System' to keep its high-end components in check. Shown below, OnePlus describes this new cooling system as possessing twice the cooling capacity as those it has included in older smartphones. Not only that, but OnePlus reiterates that the Ace 6 is the only in its class to provide 60-165 FPS variable refresh rates with a 7,800 mAh battery in support. Incidentally, one of OnePlus' executives revealed as much earlier this week, full details of which we have covered separately.
